Events coming up

We’ve got a few events planned for the coming months:

Saturday 11th July – a few of us are going to Doncaster to lobby the Secretary of State in the Department for Energy and Climate Change (and new dad!) , Ed Miliband.  Please contact us at if you’re interested in coming.

Sunday 9th August, 1pm  – a picnic at Kirkstall Abbey –  sunshine’s been guaranteed, so join us for a picnic, the odd bit of chat about climate change, and plenty of frisbee and football action.  Just bring some food – and contact us at to let us know you’re coming (so we can get in touch on the day if it’s raining)

Saturday 19th September, 2pm – a Q and A with a climate change expert at All Hallows Church in Hyde Park, Leeds – with kids’ activities too.  Please contact us at if you’d like to come (particularly so we can plan the kids’ activities).

We’ve also got an event planned for the autumn where we’ll be searching Leeds for wild fruit – and making our own juice there and then!  We’ll tell you more soon….

Wow! We are soooo excited to read about your group…and the fab title! We started a group, as part of our church, in our home last October – ‘People and Planet’ and we meet fortnightly to discuss issues of social justice and climate chaos. As we are a christian group (and all members happen to be parents), we base our themes within our faith but we believe strongly in being a group that takes action, joins campaigns, acts within our local and global community. We have been a bit discouraged by how few people from our ‘bursting at the seams’ church have been committed enough to come along- lots of initial interest but few actually turning up. We would love to link with you and join in some of the events coming up. We went to the Doncaster day -really encouraging stuff – and hoping to go to the London march in December. We hope to come along to your Kirkstall picnic and meet with you all.
Really great to learn about your beginnings…..heres to future months and years of changing the planet!

I saw in last nights Yorkshire Evening Post (10th Aug 2009) an article about the Leeds planning departments refusal of consent for the Micklefield wind farm, and the fact that Borrowed Planet peolple were going to be going to the civic hall to complain about this decision. Tell me when, and I’ll be there!
